Inspired by our work with Itambira Paradise Eco Hub in Lake Bunyonyi (Uganda, Africa), we have designed a special hut that can serve anyone who is ready to take the time and space to mindfully re-invent themselves by connecting with nature and art.

Connecting with yourself in a world designed to distract you is a form of responsibility and resilience.

The Heartbeats Hut is situated on Itambira Island, one of the 29 islands of Lake Bunyonyi. It can host up to 2 people, but in case of larger groups, there is an additional possibility for accommodation in the Itambira Paradise Eco Hub. The Heartbeats Hut is equipped and built from natural materials only, and it offers the best morning sunshine as well as the calmest sleep. In the Hut, you will be able to find designated spots for art, whether it's writing, painting or singing. Trust us, the outside view and environment will do the rest of the magic!

WHY DO WE HAVE HEARTBEATS HUT IN THE MIDDLE OF AFRICA? 

Our co-founder Bistra Kumbaroska visited Lake Bunyonyi in 2013, thanks to Challenge:Future and LUSU community. In Uganda, she organized different workshops and community events, supporting young people to create social or green jobs. Inspired by the vivid landscape and passionate people, Bistra supported the development of Itambira Paradise Eco Hub - a tourism project focused at improving the livelihood on this islands. Thanks to Simon Byamukama, (president of LUSU), Silas and other team members, the project grew into a nature resort with 14 accomodation options and multitude of volunteering opportunities in the communities nearby.   ​

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HEARTBEATS HUT?

The Heartbeats Hut is designed to inspire a mindful journey into your heart. Apart from the hut's interior design, the experience includes a lot of walks in nature, as well as volunteering experiences connected to the local communities living in this area. Art plays a major role in the development of the Hut, as the Itambira island is full of stories, poems and songs that bring humans closer. The Heartbeats Hut is a space to experience and cherish all forms of togetherness and peace.

WHO, HOW AND WHY CAN THE HEARTBEAT HUT BOOKED?

You can book the Hut by contacting us and telling us your planned dates and purpose of your visit. Usually, we will need a week to check back and develop a customized experience together with the local team. We promise that your offer will be full of pleasant surprises and discoveries.
